Buddhism and Modern Psychology – This course provides an overview of Buddhism, the major schools of Buddhist thought, and how these schools have influenced Western Psychology. It is split into two sections:

Part 1: The Fundamentals of Buddhism and Western Psychology

Part 2: Modern Applications of Buddhist Philosophy in Everyday Life. This course will help you understand the basics of Western Psychology and Buddhist thought, as well as how these two schools can be integrated to help you construct a less stressful life.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

• Understand the main principles and terminology of Buddhism
• Apply these basic principles of Buddhist thought to everyday life
• Understand the basic principles and terminology of Western Psychology
• Apply these basic principles of Western Psychology to everyday life.
• Identify the main differences between Buddhism and Western Psychology
• Apply tools of Buddhist philosophy in everyday life
