A two-week course that surveys the history of art crime and its effects on cultural heritage, provides a comprehensive overview of current law enforcement efforts at international, national, and local levels to combat this activity, discusses significant cases in detail, and reviews potential solutions.

The final week will be dedicated to participants creating a plan for an art crime prevention campaign appropriate for their communities.

This course will be taught by Robert K. Wittman, who was the founder and president of the FBI’s renowned Art Crime Team. Mr. Wittman has lectured at numerous venues, including lectures sponsored by the United States State Department for foreign law enforcement officials in Bosnia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia; art crime conferences in Rome, Italy; and at the annual conference of INTERPOL.

Mr. Wittman is currently director of business development for Fusion Arts Gallery in New York City, which specializes in historical and contemporary artworks with an emphasis on Eastern Europe and Russia.
